I spent my childhood at my family’s estate in Bartodzieje, situated in central Poland. At 8 years of age I and my family immigrated to Sweden, where the rural life was very different from the one I saw and experienced in Poland. The Polish village had a feeling of ‘being one with nature’, in contradiction to the Swedish way of life which was modern and technologically advanced.
Later I decided to go back to my childhood neighbourhood and capture what I once as a child saw and experienced. The voyage took me back to the past as I meet people and saw landscapes which I will probably never see again; it was like the place had been frozen in time.
"The Village" is a personal project of mine which I started in the early 2000. It's not finished, It's still in making. The Village is photographic project all photographed on Kodak TriX, 35mm and Medium Format.
